Dear Friends
I am writing just after the Silver Jubilee Celebrations for our building.
What a wonderful weekend it was, so much to remember, share and
enjoy, lots of conversation, memories and hospitality. Thank you to
everyone who joined in the spirit of the occasion and made it special.
An elderly lady was heard complaining at a local Church, “If they ask
for any more money, I will have to stop coming to Church, it is too expensive.”
What a sad state of affairs when someone feels excluded from church
because of the cost? Isn’t it all the more important then for the Church
to be seen to give more than it receives?
This may seem difficult in these days of rising costs, higher fuel bills
and fewer people in paid occupations, but the greatest gift we can give
is LOVE and we can give that in abundance because it’s free. If we
add LOVE to whatever we can give, our gift goes much further!
It’s true, the more we give and the more we receive, time and time
again, Alan and I have received far more than we gave away.
During the coming weeks we will celebrate Harvest and give to the
Falconer Children’s Home, then we have the Bible Times Exhibition
when many children are “booked – in” to come and learn on our premises,
about the Bible and what it means for God’s people. May all
those who come be blessed by their visit and want to know more
about our God, our Jesus and the Christian Church.
Let us as a Church pray for all those young people, their families,
teachers and friends that they can feel the LOVE and receive a warm welcome here in our building.
Let us share what we have in abundance and we too will receive great
blessings.
Acts 4: 32 All the believers were one in heart and mind.. No one
claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything
they had.”
2 Cor 9: 6 Remember this; Whoever sows sparingly will also reap
sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously………..
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will
also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest
of your righteousness.
You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on
every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving
to God………………
15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”
May God Bless you in your giving. Pat W
